Welcome!

...to Quality Assurance by Alexander Burning

I'm Alexander Burning (yes, that's really my last name), a QA student at FutureGames in Boden, Sweden.

On this page you can see some of the work I've been involved with and read about my process.

I'm looking forward to seeing what my future in this industry holds for me.

Work

Process

I believe that QA should be introduced as early as possible into a project to make sure that quality is being maintained from the start.

I do this by doing a lot of embedded testing, regression testing and communicating with my colleagues.

My current bug template:

  1. Summarize the bug in the title e.g. "Camera does not follow the character"
  2. Make sure to label the bug (audio, graphics, gameplay etc.)
  3. Add an in depth description of the bug with the following:
    • Steps to reproduce: Easy to follow step by step reproduction
    • Expected result: This should happen
    • Actual result: This actually happened
    • Severity: Set the correct severity, from “Low”, "Minor", "Major" to “Critical”
    • Probability: How often does this bug occur
    • Game version/build: e.g. Alpha.1.0
    • Additional notes: More text goes in the comments if necessary
  4. Attach video or screenshot of bug if possible
